Safety and privacy are at the heart of Mina. Your conversations are personal, and bringing an AI into them only works if you can trust how it behaves and what it keeps. Here is what we stand for and how we put it into practice.

What we stand for

We have a zero tolerance policy for:

  • Bullying, harassment and threats
  • Child sexual exploitation and the sexualization of minors
  • Sharing intimate images without consent
  • Hate speech
  • Doxing
  • Any illegal activity

How we keep Mina safe

  • Invite-only beta. Mina is growing one invitation at a time, from friends to friends, which keeps the community real.
  • Private by default. Your chats are visible only to the people in them. There are no public profiles to scroll and no feed to be discovered in.
  • Mina only joins when invited. Mina reads a conversation only when it has been added to the chat or when you ask it directly, and each chat decides how present it is: chiming in, mentions only, or quiet.
  • Ask privately. You can ask Mina about any message privately. Only you see the answer, until you decide to share it with the group.
  • You control memory. Shared memory is what you choose to share with a chat; private memory stays between you and Mina and is never surfaced to the group.
  • A human team behind every report. Report any content or behavior that breaks our Community Guidelines to contact@withmina.app, and a member of our team will review it.
  • Protected data. Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure providers, and access within our team is strictly limited.
  • No ads, no data sales. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising, and the AI providers that power Mina are not allowed to train their models on your conversations.

Looking ahead

We keep improving safety and privacy on Mina. Here is what we are working on:

  • In-app reporting and blocking
  • Full controls to review, correct and delete what Mina remembers
  • Stronger encryption for your conversations
