How these guidelines are enforced

Most chats on Mina are private, so we rely on you to tell us when something is wrong. If you see content or behavior that breaks these guidelines, report it to contact@withmina.app. A member of our team will review it.

When we review a report, we look at the full context: who is involved, what was shared and whether there is a risk of real-world harm. Not everything you disagree with is a violation.

Our first reflex is to explain what went wrong and how to fix it. For serious or repeated violations, we may remove content, limit features, suspend or permanently ban an account. When someone’s safety is at immediate risk, we may contact law enforcement.

If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal by writing to contact@withmina.app with any context we may have missed. We may not change our decision, but we will always listen.

Be yourself

Mina works because people know who they are talking to.

• Use your real identity. Do not create fake accounts or accounts for someone else.
• Do not impersonate another person, brand or organization, including Mina or our team, to deceive others. Clear parody is reviewed differently.
• Do not misrepresent who you are to gain someone’s trust, money or personal information.

Bullying, harassment and threats

Everyone should be able to talk without feeling intimidated. Even hard conversations should stay respectful.

You may not bully or harass anyone, directly or by getting others to pile on. This includes repeated unwanted messages, degrading comments and adding someone to chats to target them.

We take threats of violence very seriously. Threatening someone’s safety, stalking or encouraging others to commit violence will get you removed from Mina. If you feel your personal safety is at risk, contact your local law enforcement and report the behavior to us.

Hate speech

There is no room on Mina for hate. You may not attack, dehumanize, call for violence against or exclude people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or serious medical condition.

Content with clear educational, historical or news value may be reviewed differently, but using slurs or glorifying hateful groups is never allowed.

Sexual content and consent

Mina is for adults, but it is not a place for sexual exploitation.

Zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation. Any content that sexualizes minors will be removed, the account banned, and the content reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the relevant authorities.

Never share intimate images or videos of someone without their consent, and never threaten to (sextortion).

Do not send sexual content to people who have not clearly asked for it.

Do not offer, advertise or solicit sexual services, including prostitution or escort services.

Privacy and doxing

Respect other people’s privacy. Do not share someone’s private information, such as their home address, phone number, financial or medical details, or private photos, without their permission.

Do not share screenshots or recordings of private conversations to shame, harass or harm someone.

Harmful and illegal activities

You may not use Mina to plan, promote or carry out harm.

• Self-harm. Do not encourage or glorify suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. If you are struggling, please reach out to a local helpline or emergency services. You are not alone.
• Illegal activity. Do not use Mina to plan or promote illegal acts, including fraud, theft, trafficking or buying and selling illegal goods.
• Dangerous activities. Do not promote challenges or acts likely to cause serious injury.
• Violent extremism. Do not support, praise or recruit for terrorist or violent extremist organizations.
• Child safety. Do not endanger minors in any way, including grooming or attempting to contact minors through Mina.
• Disinformation. Do not deliberately spread false information that could cause real-world harm, such as health misinformation or content designed to interfere with elections.

Spam, scams and manipulation

Do not send bulk or repetitive messages, unsolicited promotions or chain messages.

Do not use invitations to add people you do not know, or to grow an audience for marketing.

Do not run scams, phishing attempts, fake giveaways, pyramid schemes or multi-level marketing.

Do not artificially manipulate the Service, for example with automated accounts or scripts.

Regulated goods

Do not use Mina to sell or arrange the sale of drugs, prescription medication, weapons, explosives, alcohol, tobacco or other regulated goods.

Using Mina responsibly

Mina, our AI assistant, is here to help your group. Help us keep it that way:

• Do not try to trick Mina into producing harmful, illegal, hateful or sexually explicit content, or into bypassing its safety measures.
• Do not use Mina to create content that impersonates a real person in a misleading way, or to harass or deceive anyone.
• Remember that Mina can make mistakes. Check important information, and never rely on Mina in an emergency.
• Respect the people in your chats: if the group prefers a quieter Mina, adjust its pace for that chat.

Intellectual property

Only share content you have the right to share. Do not post content that infringes someone else’s copyright or trademark. If you believe your work has been infringed, see our DMCA Policy.

These guidelines will evolve
