DMCA Policy

Mina respects the intellectual property of others. If you believe content shared on Mina infringes your copyright, send a notification of claimed infringement to contact@withmina.app. Your notice must meet the requirements of section 512 of the US Copyright Act (the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, or “DMCA”).

What to include in your notice

Please use the following template:

  • Your contact details: your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  • The original copyrighted work you claim is being infringed. If several works are involved, list each of them.
  • The infringing content, with enough information for us to locate it, such as the name of the account that shared it, the chat, the date and time, or a screenshot.
  • This statement: “I have a good faith belief that the use of the material I am reporting is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law. The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

When we receive a valid notice, we will review it and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the content and let the user who shared it know. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

Counter-notification

If you believe content you shared was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send us a counter-notification that includes:

  • Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  • A description of the content that was removed and where it appeared before it was removed.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief that the content was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
  • Your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which Mina may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

If the complainant does not tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the content.

The DMCA requires you to provide personal information. As is standard practice, we may share your notice, including your contact details, with the user whose content you reported. Submitting a false or misleading notice may make you liable for damages.
